DEBORAH SWIFT

Deborah's book THE LADY'S SLIPPER - about characters who come into conflict over the rare wild flower of that name - is set just after the English Civil War in rural Westmorland. Its companion book THE GILDED LILY, will be out in September 2012. Deborah used to be a set and costume designer for stage and TV so the settings often inspire her novels. THE GILDED LILY is set in the smoke of Restoration London in one of the coldest winters of the 'little ice age'. As a contrast her next novel is set in the heat and dust of 17th century Seville.
